SEAR
The Finnish band Sear was formed in 2001 by M.Helle It.Kuusela after their previous black metal project broke up. At first, the guys had enough problems finding the missing musical hands for a full-fledged band, but eventually they managed to find the right guitarist (K.Lilja) and bassist (Thomas Vee “Iconofear”). After that, the musicians started composing songs, but they weren’t like what Sear is now, it was slower stuff. With this line-up, the band recorded one demo tape with session drummer Tony Steel, after which personnel problems arose again and the musicians had to look for a permanent drummer.
Fortunately, after a while, drummer L. appeared on the horizon.Laaksonen. He was invited to the “test-play” and was so good that the guys from the band Sear took him after the first audition. However, the labor troubles did not end there. Due to creative differences, K.Lilja and Thomas Vee “Iconofear” left the band. They were replaced by bassist M.Nieminen and guitarist Alex (who, however, also did not stay in the permanent line-up for a long time). With new personnel and new forces, the band recorded the promo “Realm of lies falling down”, which received good reviews. Subsequently, the band began cooperation with Dynamicarts records, and also gained a permanent guitarist in the person of S.Wass.
In early 2005, Sear began recording the full-length album “Begin The Celebrations Of Sin”, which became a breakthrough for the band: the album received flattering reviews and the band was nominated as the Discovery of the Year in the Finnish Metal Awards 2005. Later, after experiencing another change of band members, T.Kuusela and M.Nieminen left the band for personal reasons, and they parted ways with guitarist S.The Wass guys were still able to release the album “Lamentations of Destruction” in 2007. Now, according to the musicians themselves, their team is stronger than ever and ready for further musical feats.
In March 2009, Sear began recording a new album, which was scheduled to be completed by the end of the year, but the release was postponed due to health problems of one of the band members.

Однако на этом неурядицы с рабочей силой не закончились. По причине творческих разногласий, группу покинули K.Lilja и Thomas Vee «Iconofear». На замену им пришел басист M.Nieminen и гитарист Alex (который, впрочем, тоже долго в постоянном составе не задерживался). С новыми кадрами и новыми силами группа записала промо «Realm of lies falling down», получившее неплохие отзывы. Впоследствии группа начала сотрудничество с «Dynamicarts records», а также обрела постоянного гитариста в лице S.Wass.
В начале 2005 Sear начали запись полноформатного альбома «Begin The Celebrations Of Sin», ставшего для группы прорывом: альбом получил лестные отзывы и группа была номинирована как Открытие Года в Finnish Metal Awards 2005. В дальнейшем пережив очередную смену членов группы – по личным причинам группу покинули T.Kuusela и M.Nieminen, разошлись пути с гитаристом S.Wass – парни все-таки смогли выпустить в 2007 году альбом “Lamentations of Destruction”. Сейчас ,по словам самих музыкантов, их команда крепка как никогда и готова к дальнейшим музыкальным подвигам.
В марте 2009 года Sear начали запись нового альбома, который планировался быть завершенным к концу года, однако релиз был отложен из-за проблем со здоровьем одного из участников группы.
